2025-2026 Program Details and Division Overviews

The information below will give you a baseline understanding of what each division's basic scheduling may be for the upcoming season. These are subject to change slightly based on registration numbers and ice availability.

About Female Hockey

WMHA and Hockey Yukon are pleased to provide development opportunities for female athletes of all ages. These opportunities range from “come try hockey” to high performance hockey training. The Yukon Female Hockey Club program runs in conjunction with community minor hockey programs (players can participate in both), or this program can be the only hockey experience your player is looking for this season, and that's fine too.

Our general program is called Yukon Female Hockey Club, inside this program we have a popular grassroots program that is an introductory model based on learning basic skills, meeting other players and having a great time on the ice. This introductory group will skate on most Saturdays 1x per week. Players inside this group can also play in house league, however they do not have to. This is for players U7 thru to U13 (no U15 or U18 players in grass roots programming).

Our Yukon Wild program is developmental while having a competitive edge meant to elevate players to the next levels of hockey. This season there will be Yukon Wild teams in the U11, U13 and U15 age groups. All Yukon Wild players will be expected to also play on a WMHA house league team. Players on Yukon Wild teams will attend tryouts and earn spots based on their skill level. After tryouts, athletes U11 and U13 aged who do not make a Wild team will be referred to girls 3 (Saturday afternoons) as an option for extra skills work.

We continue to work towards bolstering our U18 female programming. We will work with the City, WMHA and other stakeholders to provide ice times and opportunities while at the same time realizing that we are not always able to control retention due to players moving away and/or leaving hockey) U18 female athletes will be invited to the U15 Wild tryouts.

At this time, prospective Yukon Wild players at the U15 and U18 levels should sign up for Yukon Wild tryouts and not for the Yukon Female Hockey Club (as well as their regular house league registration). Those with questions about the Yukon Female Hockey Club and/or Yukon Wild are encouraged to email Rachel Hrebien hrebien4@hotmail.com for more information.

*all Yukon Wild players are expected to participate in WMHA House League (U11 may have exceptions however that is up to the discretion of WMHA, VP Of Female Programs and the Coaching Staff of the U11 Wild.
