Whitehorse Minor Hockey Summer Hockey Academy - July 2025
RFQ for Professional On-Ice Coaching Services
Introduction:
Whitehorse Minor Hockey Association (WMHA) is seeking proposals from experienced, energetic and passionate hockey experts to facilitate the on-ice components of our annual Summer Hockey Academy. The camp will run July 7-11 and July 14-18, 2025. We are looking to engage three (3) on-ice coaches to provide expert guidance and instruction to our participants during these sessions. Our summer hockey academy offers athletes a full day experience that includes on and off ice activities. Last season summer camp sold out in 11 minutes, due to the popular nature of the camp, we aim to open it up to 30 additional participants, making three groups of 30 athletes for each of the two weeks.
Scope of Services Required:
- Provide three (3) experienced on-ice coaches per session.
- Coaches should be qualified with extensive hockey coaching experience, preferably at the minor hockey or higher level.
- Coaches must have the minimum Hockey Canada coaching requirements to coach U9-U18 participants including CATT, RIS and a current Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Coaching services will be required for approximately 5 hours per day, for the duration of each camp week (Monday to Friday). With the possibility of some off ice, value added contributions throughout the day ie) Nutrition and Mindset Sessions.
- Coaches must deliver structured on-ice training and ensure safety and skill development for all participants. The program plan can be created for week 1, and repeated for week 2.
- The association will request a comprehensive program plan outline to be provided two weeks prior to camp start date.
- The coaching sessions will include skill development, drills, and team-building exercises.
- Aprox number of on ice coaching hours per week:
- 3 coaches x 5 hours per day x 5 days = 75 hours of coaching per week.
- The camp will run for two weeks, for a total of 150 hours on ice.
Pricing and Proposal Submission Requirements:
- Please provide a detailed breakdown of your pricing, including the following:
- Hourly rate per coach.
